God's Not Afraid of the Dark, So Why Am I ?  (2)

2 Chronicles 20:15
... This is what the LORD says to you: ‘Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God’s.

This concept has been repeatedly demonstrated throughout the Bible.

A LOOK THROUGH SPIRITUAL EYES (God's Eyes)

Spiritual eyes not only see what is, but what CAN be through the power of God. This is one of the most beautiful things about salvation. God loved us so much that He saw our potential when we commit our hearts and lives to serving Him by obeying the gospel of Christ.

Eyes of flesh cannot see or understand spiritual things. This is something that Elisha understood as he prayed. Elisha did not merely cry out, "O, Lord, destroy our enemy" He was praying, "Lord, open this man’s spiritual eyes so that he may see your glory and your provision".

Rather than be blinded by doubting God's power, Elisha’s prayer blinded the enemy so that they could not find him.  Then the servant saw not the enemy’s advance, but the chariots of fire surrounding them in a hedge of protection! Likewise, when we get our focus OFF of the situation at hand and ON the Lord where it belongs, the darkness is overtaken by the light!

Just as The Lord withheld and then provided rain in response to the petition of Elijah in 1 Kings 18, He again was moved through the prayers of a man who was committed to following Him.

It’s not enough for us to think that the Lord knows what’s going on and will take care of it. Often times to receive His help, we need to ask Him. This is how it is with salvation and this is how it is when trouble comes. James said, "You have not, because you ask not."

**One of the reasons for spiritual blindness in our lives is because we turn “dead to sin” into rolling  over and playing dead!**

In the midst of a crisis we need to stand firm in His strength and power and claim the victory that He has given us through His Son Jesus Christ.

Praise God! Praise God! Praise God!

God wants us to have His vision. To see what He sees. He wants us to see it now, not just later in "the sweet by and by". Too many professing Christians are all wrapped up in the line of thinking that Christianity is just insurance for when you die. When we think like this, we miss out on so much that The Lord has for us! 1 Tm. 6:12. Fight the good fight of the faith. Take hold of the eternal life to which you were called and about which you made the good confession in the presence of many witnesses.
We are told to take hold of eternal life NOW, this side of Heaven! We're never told to do something by God that is impossible for us to do. Think on these things.

To be continued.
